Instructor workstation capabilities have been developed, designed and implemented to provide a wide range of functionalities and to allow control of training scenarios for easy monitoring and evaluation of trainees’ performance during a training sessions. The instructor can easily create and control multiple exercises and control multiple trainee workstations simultaneously, customizing each individual exercise by changing weather conditions, navigational situation,s and other parameters in real-time.

GMDSS SIMULATOR

GMDSS Simulator “C-GMDSS-Sim is a simulation solution for GMDSS training. C-GMDSS-Sim combines all the GMDSS communication equipment with an Instructor’s Workstation to simulate radio communications for maritime security, including ship-to-coast communications and ship-to-ship communications. GMDSS simulator can either be used in a standalone mode or integrated with the Ship Bridge Simulator and it has been certified by RINA as compliant to the STCW convention, section A-I/12.”

The RADAR/ARPA console is equipped with a replica of the most common Radar which is capable to offer the main training functionalities according to the standard STCW. The radar simulator can also be used to carry-out Radar/ARPA courses in stand-alone mode by using dedicated software combined with the Instructor workstation.

C-ECDIS Sim is the simulation solution for ECDIS training. C-EcdisSim combines a real ECDIS and an Instructor Workstation that combines cutting-edge technologies with traditional navigation systems, providing realistic training fully compliant with STCW and ISM international standards. The ECDIS console is equipped with the EGLOBE G2 ECDIS system already certified by DNV according to the following standards: Annex A.1, item No. A.1/4.30 and Annex B, Module B in the Directive. IMO Resolutions A.694 (17), MSC.191 (79) & MSC.232 (82).

3D VISUALIZATION

Visualization System is based on Ultra HD resolution image generation using LED screens or projectors with HFoV upto 360°. Number of visual channels and the degree of view can be reconfigured according to customers’ needs. Exercise areas are based on detailed 3D databases with a high-resolution true-color texturing that is displayed by the visualization system. Such database includes 3D models of navigation aids, cultural and industrial objects.

The Ship Bridge Simulator is also equipped with a full database in terms of ship types such as containerships, tankers, bulk carriers, ro-ro, passengers, etc. Ships are also available in different displacement, length, draught, and with a number of propulsion types: traditional engine, fixed-pitch propeller, and controllable pitch propeller, single/double propeller, azimuthal thrusters, etc. The ship’s motion at sea is done by using an internally developed physics engine where 6 DOF equations based on validated hydrodynamic modeling are implemented. The ship models (both own ships and targets) are available in a permanently expanding library.

Ship Bridge Simulator is equipped with a full database of geographic areas including both major international ports and a number of rivers for inland navigation. Each training area recreates one of the real geographic areas and is carefully built to ensure accurate position of buoys, lights, harbors, and any other real object, data, and information.
